Hi Anna Mae!
Can you resend me your Mac issues???
I am beginning to think the seedling I described is Liberty Hills and not
my seedling.
My map of this garden does not show Liberty Hills planted there but I do
have a note about transplanting some plants into this garden. Roaring Jelly
is planted there
It is very close in color though as it ages it becomes a chalky blue, the
falls do not curve at the tip and are instead a little cupped at times. The
falls can be a little fuller. The foliage is very stiff and shorter than my
clumps of Liberty Hills. The terminal buds have bloomed out and the spurs
are blooming, all about a week ahead of my Liberty Hills clumps. All this
can be attributed to different environmental conditions. It is to close to
Liberty Hills to be distinctive enough to warrant introduction.
By the way, Liberty Hills ranks very highly with me. As I prepare my
favorite 15 ballot for SSI, I would rate it in my top five.
The plant is superb in the landscape throughout the season. It is
floriferous and distinctive. The only fault ( if this can be a fault of any
Siberian) is the lack of branching.
