Hello everyone,
This is my first message on SIBROB. My name is
Bob Sawyer and I live on the coast of Maine in the town of Harpswell on Great
Island. My Garden has every kind of iris that will grow here and I am always
looking for others. I like older irises and have close to a hundred 1950 and
older TBs. I have a fair share of new ones too. I joined SIBROB because I am
also interested in Siberians. They do grow well here and I have 25 or 30 of
them. My garden is always open to visitation. It might be a good idea to e-mail
me at l*@ime.net to make sure I am
home and for directions.
This year has been strange. My garden is early
this year, and every thing opened in a two week time frame. June 1 my old
Siberian (no name) which I received from a lady who found it in the garden of a
house she purchased in 1946. It is a beautiful iris and normally opens a week (sometimes 2) before any other
Siberian in the garden. This year Shaker's Prayer opened the next day. We have
the Maine Iris Show in Auburn tomorrow, June 12th and I am going to have trouble
finding Siberians to take. Normally the TBs open before most of the Siberians.
This year they all opened over the same time period.
I am not a big e-mailer, so you will not see
much from me. I will be here and will gladly answer any questions and will now
and again add my 2 cents.
all for now
Bob Sawyer
