My TSI came last week and it was fun reading the ideas that the new
hybridizers came up with and I wish them lots of success. I think age of
plant probably influences the height it grows and once established it will
stay about that height. I think Esther C.D.M. is my all time favorite-its
such a gorgeous plant. I saw a row of King of Kings growing at Chehalem
gardens and it was very uniform and nice but I don't know that it had the
glaucous foliage of Esther which by the way passes it onto its seedlings:
Sprinkles and Lavender Stipples, Mesa Pearl and Purple Sand (Which bloomed
well on 2 yr. and 3 yr. clump. I've always loved Super Ego and Percheron but
don't think of them as tall-checked checklist and I'm correct. Linda Mary,
Roaring Jelly and Lilting Laura are real bloomers and Shirley Pope and Sole
Command and Temper Tantrum have always been good clumps and Peg Edwards and
Harpswell Haze have been longtime favorites. Anna Mae Miller, z5 off top of
my head.
