Having met and talked to Dr. Tamberg a couple of times, I would aree with
the assesment that speaking a second language can put a bit of an unintended
slant on things.  I wouldn't charactrize his answer to your question as
arrogant, but rather succinct.  He is a scientist and by training, may not
habitually sugar coat the fact that he already has a means of outlet for his
plants and that one outlet is enough.  Exporting/Importing is not wihout its
headaches and so I wouldn't hold a succint answer against him.  Incidently I
have been impressed by two of his irises in my garden these past two years:
Berlin Purple Wine and Sibtosa Pricess.  Berlin purple wine is for the big
flower afficionado, while sibtosa pricess is a great lavender pink (and
fairly tall).
