Currier McEwen's 100th birthday....

Hello - this was received from Currier's daughter who is married to Hubbard (like the
Siberian iris) Goodrich, Currier's son-in-law. Happily, she tells us something about
Currier and his indomitable, optimistic spirit. Send a card if possible. Happy Birthday,
Currier!
>>>>As we are sure most of you know, our father will turn 100 on April 1st. He has
requested that there be no party beyond what family will gather and no gifts or flowers.
In leu of this request, we are suggestingthat sending a card, perhaps with a picture of
yourself enclosed or a picture of yourself with him, would make a happy and welcome
compromise. He loves cards, funny ones, but he also has a sentimental streak so mushy
ones catch his heart, too.
Just to give you all a little update, he is getting around with a walker and we often
hear him say as he enters a room, "Here I come skipping and hopping." He has discovered
the comfort of a Lazy Boy reclining chair that his niece, Nancy Dorian, gave him, but he
still spends a lot of time at his desk working on various iris projects.
He has been ëcamping' with Hub and me this winter while his wife, Elisabeth, has been in
NYC taking care of business.
He hopes to be back in Seaways by his birthday with Elisabeth but if weather or some
other event prevents this, he will continue here with us.
