Hi Carol       I am sure that I`m the least known of all the members.  I
am about to retire, probably June .  If there would be someway to bridge
the gap from  April to June,  I would be able to help you.  I am in the
process of discovering the greatness of computers, so  this is a great
tool.  I have been a member for over a year,  and would like to do
something for our group.   Let me know if I can be of assistance.  Thanks

As announced in the last issue of The Siberian Iris, we are in need of a
replacement to take over as membership secretary of the Society for
Siberian Irises.  This is a very, very important position!  Quite often
the membership secretary is the first contact with the Society.  The job
involves but is not limited to: keeping accurate, up to date records of
the membership, printing of the labels for mailing TSI, notifying members
when their dues are to be renewed, answering all types of questions,
sending out welcome packets of information to new members and sending the
latest issue of TSI when a membership is received.  A system for
depositing of checks can be worked out with our treasurer, Jim Copeland.

Is there an organized person out there who would like to take on this job
for the Society, or if you have some suggestions of who might be
interested in doing this please contact me at draycott@qis.net. Linda
will continue to do the job and run the labels for the Spring issue so
the position would begin probably in April.  Anyone interested in doing
this should be a member of SSI.  The salary for the job is equal to that
of all other officers and directors - the joy of working with a great
group of folks and helping to promote Siberian irises.
