Re: Re: Beardless Irises

Hi Ellen -- I have a color ad for TSI ready to send -- I just need clearance on one new name from Mike Lowe. Do we still have time? On the same general topic of TSI, some time back there was a long discussion on Sibrob about herbicides and weed management in Siberians. I just went back and reread the sequence and I thought it was really quite valuable. Have you ever thought of putting it together for TSI? Weeds are something everyone has problems with. Bob

Greetings Magdelena,

I am forwarding this letter to the iris-species mailing list (online discussion group) and also the Siberian mailing list called the Sibrob so you would get more information sent to you. There are several excellent books but I hate to recommend any....hopefully the iris-species list will do that.

The three iris species you mentioned are widely grown in the United States...I would guess Iris graminea is not as widely grown as the other two. although it is easy to grow and very fertile.

Regards.

I'm interested in breeding beardless irises and I would like to know whether you have any

experiences with Iris graminae, I. pseodacorus and I.sibirica. Have you ever try to breed

them?

Could you recomend me any book or literature connected with this subject?
I would be very grateful for any information.

With regards
