Fw: for anyone who may be buying Mulch this spring - Update

Title: Message
Hi Phyl,

Blow is the most recent information that I have received about the termite problem in mulch.  It was sent to me by our local extension office.  I am amazed by the many emails addressing their concern that we have received about this issue.  I would rather hear about a potential problem than merrily go along in ignorance.

Hi all,

Regarding the email that I sent out about the mulch and termites – I did send it out after one of our educators had checked with Louisiana State University about the situation and they are trying to prevent the problem (http://www.agctr.lsu.edu/termites/).

Since sending out the email, I have heard from several of you that the information contained in the email was a myth.  Below are some of the websites people have shared with me and websites to check out.  I have posted the websites below and remind everyone to make sure they check the authenticity of a situation before sharing the information.   Thanks to all of you for your responses and I am sorry about any confusion this may have caused.
