Perhaps for the first time I am getting more typical behavior.
Ruffled Velvet and Summer Sky both are now open in their earliest
locations, in a ledge on a rock wall leading to one of the rentals
here. Summer Sky is surprising charming there, surrounded by grey
Appalachian rock, creeping phlox (still showing a few blooms) and a
red-violet perennial verbena, now starting to bloom. It was a
fortuitous, but accidental, combination.
Both appear to be normal height--in especially good soil and lots of
light.
