These are McEwen intros. and the ones I know about all have another
word, such as a favorite one of mine: Harpswell Snowburst. If this is
indeed the case, then you'd need that other word before anybody could
give you any help, at least without seeing it bloom. Caesar's Brother
is probably the most widely grown and popular Sib of all. Its
hybridizer & date is: Morgan, 1932. I can't help with the other one, as
I don't grow it and don't have the books.

Thanks to all you folks who answered my enquiry. I got the label out
again and found that it said the Harpswell was a deep violet blue.
Checking that one catalogue that I do have there are only 2 that are
supposed to be deep violet blue and one of them has a silver edge so I
have to wait until it flowers. The 2 possibilies are Harpswell Velour
(McEwan 1994) and Harpswell Velvet (McEwan 1991). One has to keep in
mind that not all of these darkblue purple irises of McEwan's may be
listed in the catalogue I have.
Similar to Caoline Stalnakar I would like to know if there is a sib
checklist. How do we buy it?
