Banish Misfortune, Barbara Schmieder and Pleasures of May are in bloom. It is peak IB season with a few TBs in bloom here. Lots of SDBs still blooming too.

Hi Laurie,
We have about 10 SDBs in bloom and only one MDB..'Doozey'. BUT,
(drum roll), Iris typhifolia opened today with two great
bloomstalks. It wasn't open yesterday and I didn't go down to
that end of the property in the rain today. I saw it as I drove
by in the car this afternoon and was so startled that I almost
crashed the car. (just kidding, almost). We have had lots of
rain in the past 3 weeks and some warmth but not a lot. We had a
frost not long ago..within the past two weeks.
This is a record early bloom for Iris typhifolia here.. first
bloom the last few years: 6/10/00, 5/30/01, 6/06/02, 6/05/03 and
today's 5/28/04. 'China Spring' has buds and so does 'Wings of
Night'..I better inspect all the others tomorrow so I don't get
caught by surprise. I didn't realize that '01 was another early
bloom year which is a good reason to keep a 'bloom book'.
Looks like a good year for bloom in all the different classes.
The IBs and some early TBs,etc. are loaded with buds.

year! <<<
I betcha it will. :-)
Cheers,
