Re: Zone 4 sibs

In this part of Zone 4, at least, (I'd say we were definitely in the southern half of the zone) the Siberians have been in bloom already for quite a few days.  CHARMING DARLENE was the first, and its clump is clearly past its peak, though there are still many blossoms.  There are several others just now approaching peak--HELIOTROPE BOUQUET, SHOW- DOWN, & PIRATE PRINCE are examples.  Still others just opened their first blooms this morning--WHITE SWIRL, RUFFLED VELVET, ANNIVERSARY, SULTAN'S RUBY--and finally, there are some which still have only bud stalks but no blossoms.  BUTTER AND SUGAR AND HARBOR MIST are in this category.  Some also don't show bud stalks, but I don't know if they will.  I haven't tried to name you all the sixty or so that we have, but this gives a representative sample.  You can see it's clearly a mixed bag.  The TBs are at prime right now, and the very warm weather is making them melt fast, but we're supposed to get a cool-off beginning tonight.  Our show is scheduled for Saturday, and it is shaping up now to have more Siberians than we've ever seen there.  Should be interesting, especially to a Sib-lover.
