If I were growing siberians for wholesale purposes I would grow High Standards. I feel it is the best landscape siberian. Esther C.D.M. is about the best white. The Gull's Wing which grows like Esther, of course, would also be good. For me, Coronation Anthem and Jeweled Crown do not bloom above the foliage and the foliage is not good throughout the season. Both grow well here but may not be great plants for the general public.
I would not try to replace Caesar's Brother because it is one of the best landscape plants available. It's problem is that it grows so fast and so tight that it is a bear to divide. Keep in mind also that it is one of the best plants for warm climates.
I get lots of requests for wholesale plants. The problem usually comes from landscapers who are looking for a certain variety listed in a professionally designed plan. For instance, they want 150 Super Ego and 150 Butter and Sugar. Most times it is impossible to change their minds and interest them in better varieties even in the same color range. Name recognition means a great deal in the wholesale business. If they read about it or saw a picture in a magazine somewhere then it must be the only thing worth growing.
I wholesale to two very large local nurseries and it is hard to keep ahead on stock. They seem to want 100 -200 plants of certain varieties each year and I'm not able to sell that much and still have enough left for the next year. I would think that they would like to try new things but there is a lot of resistance to change. Good luck.
Also keep in mind that nurseries only like to pay $1.50 to $2.50 per plant and it becomes a lot of work if you do not have help.
