Hi Dorothy - I have no trouble with B & S here in Zone 3....maybe the thaw,
freeze, thaw cycles of Zones 5 - 7 may be the culprit. A few years ago I wrote
about B & S on the old iris-list and sent a pic to Tom Tadfor-Little's web
page of one blooming in my garden and a few people wrote and said they had a
difficult time with it or plain didn't like it.

Now that I have 'Welfenschatz' and 'Moonsilk', it doesn't seem so great to me
either but I still like it mainly because it was my first Siberian. It was
bought from Jody Camille's Mountain River Flower Farm right up here in
Northern New Hampshire along with 'Lady Vanessa' and once they bloomed, I was
hooked on Siberians.

In the cold White Mountains where the temps are dipping below zero tonight.
Winter is here.

Brrr,

Ellen
