Butter & sugar

Butter and Sugar was hybridized on an island in Harpswell

Maine in close proximity to the open ocean. I don't think

freeze and thaw would bother it. however the lack of moisture

in the air might. My main garden is also in Harpswell close to

salt water and I also have some irises approximately ten miles

away. It has been very noticeable that some irises do much

better in the different locations. I have Butter and sugar only

in my main garden in Harpswell. It is slow to start and is not as

vigorous as some of the other siberians around it. I would rate

it as a fair grower. I have digital photos of the blossom if you

would like to see it.
