strange happenings on the 'net...

Hello,

Some of you may be aware of the virus (worm) that has infected the iris-talk
and the iris-photos list. I do not receive any mail from those lists but I know
some of you do. Those that use Windows, probably most of you, caution is the
watchword. Again, do not open any attachments that you were not expecting.

I also received, at my main e-mail address, posts from two people I know (both
iris people) and their posts were indicated to be about 40k long. They were
blank.....I inadvertently was caught up in the virus game through someone
else's e-mail. When I found out, I scanned for any virus etc. I work on a
Macintosh platform so I think I am clear.

However, this morning at this Yahoo address (ellengalla), an attachment e-mail
telling me to open immediately from the 'virus gang' and it was a forwarded
message. Taking no chances, I just deleted it. I make no claim to understand
this stuff so everyone be on the watch.

These two lists have been quiet these days even tho' we are at an all-time high
in membership. Sibrob = 206, BeardlessIrisPhotos = 65.

Cheers,

Ellen
