For the Fall 2003 issue of our publication, 'The Siberian Iris':
1) The Siberian/species mini-convention June 12-15 in Hamilton,
Ontario needs folks to write up the four tour gardens.
2) Also needing reporters is the AIS Convention May 12-17 in
Fredericksburg, VA (U.S.) will have(hopefully) a lot of
Siberians in bloom.
3) Both of these gatherings need good photos...digital or
slides.
Who will answer the call? I already have one guy that I have
button-holed for the AIS convention. I am aiming for four
write-ups for the Siberian/species mini-convention and at least
two (maybe three) for the AIS convention. This all depends on
the length of the articles, of course.
The fall issue is our smaller issue - not as much required as in
the spring issues where we have to include the new registrations
and also the listing of the Siberian display gardens.
Hopefully, we will have a nice centerfold of pics covering both
conventions but we can use some in other forthcoming issues. The
goes for articles as well.
To be a 'reporter' for TSI does not require that you be a
hybridizer, just that you grow/appreciate/know Siberians. Rocket
scientists need not apply. :-)
If anyone is interested, let me know. The sooner the better so I
can assign (at least in my files) certain folks to certain
gardens.
Anybody who takes photos, please offer them to TSI for
publication. If they are used, they will be returned to you and
if they are not used, I might copy them and use them in a
forthcoming issue (they will, of course, be returned). Photos
are always credited.

*** Has anybody received the fall 2002 TSI? *** I haven't. I am
betting that the foreign subscribers get TSI first.
The permit mailing is really not mailed from my post office - it
goes by truck to White River Junction, Vermont to be mailed.
That is our Regional Postal Facility.
