Aussie Bloom season

Hi

Some of you may know me from Iris-talk. I live in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia and have a commercial iris and daylily nursery. I am getting more and more fond of siberian irises. I have only about 20 different cultivars but am slowly building my collection. There is not a huge market for siberians in Australia as many places are not cold and/or damp enough but I love their lovely fresh foliage and their later blooming. This year they are looking exceptional as we have had a very wet and humid spring ( well, by our standards anyway)

Here are a some of Barry Blyth's new ones (04 releases) that have bloomed for the first time this season. As the plants are still small I think they will be better next year, even so David's Sone seems to be a very clear blue with lovely form. Huntress may be a weird colour and not the wide form I so like, but it's growing extremely well. Heartwave is a lovely lavender-pink.
