There hasn't been a posting on the Sibrob concerning Rita's untimely death yesterday. For those of your who didn't know it, she suffered a massive stroke early Sat. morning and she never regained consciousness.
Rita was a member f the Society for Siberian Irises and loved all irises. She was the Editor of The Review of The Society for Japanese Irises at the time of her death.
Rita received the Distinguished Service Medal from the American Iris Society less than two weeks ago at the fall board meeting of the AIS. Her service to the AIS would take more space than a note to Sibrob allows.
Suffice to say, a lot of hearts are full and our thoughts and love go to Tom and their three children.
