Dear Friends,
I am in the process of setting up an email robin for hybridizers
of Siberian iris, ultimately to replace the mail version now
circulating. Current members are already notified, but if there are
any among you with a strong interest in this subject who would wish to
be on the list, please let me know. The group will not be accessible
to open registration but anyone with a serious interest will gladly be
included.
After some discussion with Ellen about using egroups, I decided to
join sibrob for a little while to see how the whole thing operates
from within, just to make sure whether this is the way to go for our
robin.
I struggle to develop siberians that will grow well in Southern
California. So I don't actually just 'grow' any; I struggle. On the
other hand, I am still enjoying the last few plums off a tree here,
persimmons are rapidly getting ripe, passionfruit are falling off the
vine, and I have a small crop of cherimoyas
(http://www.crfg.org/pubs/ff/cherimoya.html) to harvest this winter.
I'm a very active member in California Rare Fruit Growers
http://www.crfg.org/, an organization not limited to California, or
semi-tropical fruits for that matter.
Again, if you are interested in hybridizing, let me know.
Thanks,
Michael
