Hi Folks-
I have an iris that I had always assumed was a siberian but after
learning more about the various species I am not so sure. It has
grassy foliage like a sib, grows about 20" tall, the flower stalks
are shorter than the foliage making them only visible from above.
Here is a link to a photo of it: http://www.geocities.com/land_of_mu/
iris-photos/lavender-sib.HTML . From the center to the end of a
petal is maybe 2 inches, the standards are short and spoon shaped.
The style arms almost completely cover the falls, leaving just a
small spoon shaped section protruding. The coloration in the photo is
very close to accurate, on my monitor anyway. =) I realize identifying
it's name is next to impossible, but any assistance in classifying
it's species is appreciated.
Thanks
Mike Unser
