I spent a couple hours in Madrid's Botanical Garden on Oct. 6 where I saw the
following Irises - spurias, sanguinea, sibirica, unguicularis, pallida,
ensata (not- didn't have rib in foliage, likely a siberian), pseudacorus,
delvayii, lutescens and germanica. The foliage was very limp and most fallen
over at right angles. Maybe they were exceptionally dry. A few marigolds and
dahlias were blooming. anna mae miller
