Hi Ross and welcome to the group. Two other suggestions for Siberians
in New Zealand -- Bill Robinson at Tikitere Gardens (Rotorua) and
Brian Harris at Waimate Gardens had good selections of Siberians when
last I heard from them. Plant import restrictions into NZ are now so
draconian that it may be very difficult or impossible to import any
more, so let's hope someone still has some available. There is a
Siberian called Violet Swirl in the AIS registration database - bred
in the US in the late 70s. It's a dark violet self and quite short.
Maybe that's what you have. Good luck on locating some new ones. Bob
