{Disarmed} RE: OVERWINTERING IN ALASKA

Even though I spray for fungus, etc and aphids I always have a few plants in fall that the aphids just love.  I cut off the leaves and put in trash can.  Then I sprinkle on bug killer.  I am sorry as I am in the house now, but I would think any bug dusting should work. I always have good luck and they winter through just fine.

All of the aphids are very low in the foilage, generally in the 1-2" just above the soil. I've never seen anything like this on Siberians before and wondered if it was something to be greatly concerned about. Has anyone on the list had problems with aphids before? If this is something to be worried about, any ideas on what can be done to counter the aphids?
