Bamboo mulch

Since you mentioned bamboo, I have a question. I have several stands of bamboo.
Every year, I harvest much more than I could possibly use and give away. Iend up
shredding it for compost. That's what I've been doing this morning.
It is slow to compost, so I've hypothesized that it should make pretty good
mulch. Do any of you have experience using shredded bamboo as mulch?
