Hi Annette,
The varieties that I have been growing long enough to become
established blooming clumps number only 11. These are older
varieties, but will mention briefly:
-SPARKLING ROSE..good increase and even rebloomed in '99
-SNOWCREST.. white flower, older vertical form. Bloomed for 4 weeks
and my wife loved it (I prefer WHITE SWIRL)
-DARK DESIRE..nice dark violet color and more horizontal flowers
With the two dozen or so varieties that I have planted in the last
couple of years I have tried to include some of the newer-but-proven
varieties, with larger flowers, and have tried to more completely
cover the available colour range and flower type. I strongly value
long bloom seasons & rebloom, vigor, and will want to explore the
height range more fully.
Of these, I have particularly high hopes for REPRISE, TEMPER TANTRUM,
AQUA WHISPERS, SUPER EGO, SPRINGS BROOK, JEWELLED CROWN, SHAKERS
PRAYER, ROARING JELLY, based on what I have seen, heard and read.
Only time will tell how well these do for me, and of course, your
climate is somewhat different from mine, so our results may differ...
Cheers,
Kevin Bergevin
