Hi - I don't grow spurias(except the little species I. graminea)
but re voles and things distasteful to them - I plant daffodils
which _seem_ to be a deterrent. I still see a few of the little
mole tunnels but no sign of vole damage.
Voles can be a huge problem around here and I think they are
worse in my garden then slugs....even around hosta. They tend to
leave my irises, lilium and peonies alone for the most part.
Anytime I see the leaf damage that Margaret described I plant a
daffodil which I love anyway. The 'smellier' the better is my
motto re daffodils. :-)
