Re: Siberian iris spacing

Leonard,
There is no hard and fast rule for spacing. Generally summer high temperatures and moisture are bigger factors than cold hardiness in determining rate of growth. Many Siberians simply will not grow in  warmer climates. I'm in 6b-7a and am humbled when I travel to cooler climates and see how much better most Siberians grow.
Furthermore, some cultivars spread rapidly while others form extremely tight clumps. Your best bet is to visit other plantings in your area and pay close attention to how they grow.

How far apart should you plant siberians for a massed effect? How
often will you have to split them at this spacing.  I live in climate
zone 8b.
