Hi Chris,
The Convention headquarters will be in the Iowa City/Coralville, IA. The
University of Iowa is located there. The first day of tours will occur in
Eastern Iowa: Atalissa (Walnut Hill Gardens - master plantings location
for the eastern sector); Cedar Rapids and Monticello. The second day of
tours will be in Central and Northcentral,IA. The gardens are located in
Madrid (Iowa Arboretum - where the master plantings for the west are
displayed) and Ames,IA, home of Iowa State University. Ames is north of Des
Moines and Iowa City is 25 miles west of Cedar Rapids, IA. Iowa City is
approximately 220 miles east of Chicago, just off of Interstate 80. My
suggestion is to fly into Cedar Rapids,IA (CIDS when making plane
reservations). United, Delta, USAIr, and TWA fly into Cedar Rapids. If
there is an airline that is best for many of the Sibrob members, let me know
as soon as possible. I may be able to get a group discount for the
convention, if I can do it early enough!
