Michael,
You posted some fantastic photos here, thanks. Now I need to sit down
and study them for a bit. I wonder if it's safe to assume that anything
that produces reliable flounces here in zone 4b will do the same in zone
9 ? I think cold spells during stalk production would be more
detrimental to appendage production than intense heat but I don't really
know.
I've started out this morning trying to control conditions in the
garden by adding lime to my acid soil. The way things are going with
the warmer weather so far, I expect to have better appendage production
this year.
From what I've seen in my seedling bed, SKY HOOKS seedlings don't fare
well here which brings me to another point. DOUBLE TROUBLE is also in
double trouble and appears as if it won't be a good grower here. I may
not have any to use for SAGE or I may decide not to bother with it
because of its rot habits. We'll see. HONEY SCOOP is a keeper here
though.
Fans are an inch up in the garden, the Arilbreds look fabulous compared
to the TB's. Who said I couldn't grow these things up here ?
Chris
