I agree and it likely is just that. We do not yet know. At this point I concede to Sharon's years of expertese and experience. She says the prominent ones are prone to produce appendages. It should be simple enough to correlate SA crosses to those that have BSE's and those that don't and see if it makes a difference. Assuming of course we have been astute enough to examine for them before bloom goes away.
I'm finding many "spines" in falls by feel and many without. Visually prominent BSE's are however rare.
