RE: [SpaceAgeRobin] RE: Space Age Genetics

I'm doubtful I'm following this discussion well, but the
T'bird seedling growing was the only one of four siblings
that had appendages. The three that were tossed never
showed any hint of having one, though I didn't check for
BSE. They were all from the same pod, so I'm assuming
they had the same pollen parent. If T'bird had four
dosages, then the progeny should have had at least two
dosages. Since the remaining seedling is still producing
blooms with appendages - all alike, not mixing horns,
spoons, flounces - then the pollen parent should have
contained at least one dose, possibly two, in order for
that to have occurred. Is this correct?

I realize 4 seedlings is not a large enough sample to draw
conclusions, but if there is an inhibitor for expression
of SA traits, then I'm guessing the inhibitor may work on
a dosage level as well. So one seedling didn't inherit
the inhibitor, or it takes at least two dosages of that
inhibitor to suppress the SA trait. Perhaps one dose of
inhibitor and 3 doses of SA genes is why the appendages
don't vary between horns and spoons. The inhibitor
stabilized the expression, so to speak. Doubtful, I guess.
