Will,
I really enjoyed the website and will have to say that my favorites are
the second sdlg., third sdlg., and the fourth sdlg. Good work and keep
us posted.
I have also followed the seed germination discussion of late closely for
a couple of reasons. One, so many methods exist it is kind of fun just
to try a couple, record your data, and see what happens. Secondly, I
have been trying to find similarities in some of these and combine them
and make my own up just to hopefully find what will work best for me,
something I figure everyone does. I am messing with one now that
involves soaking the seeds in a cup of water (changed regularly) in the
fridge for about a month. Then I am going to plant the seeds in a pot
and place the pot in the fridge (this is going on now when it isn't cold
enough outside obviously). My goal is to quicken germination and then
grow the seedlings in the greenhouse over the winter. I am working with
a bee pod of Minor League (Keppel 2003, SDB).
Also, to any hybridizer that is interested in sending seedlings to
various locales to test their strengths in other climates: I would be
happy to offer my opinions on how your seedlings do in our temperamental
Midwestern climate. I am not yet an AIS Judge but am preparing to begin
my first round of training early next year. I can only offer my
observations and would be glad to seeing that I will have a little extra
space in the display areas this year that could be used for seedlings.
Hope everyone is enjoying the growing season. Happy irising!
PS--Is anyone still interested in SNOW SPOON?

Subject: [SpaceAgeRobin] Iris Seedlings for 2004 website
Hello, I put together a small web page with some pics of my iris
seedlings that bloomed this past spring '04. Most are space age except
for a few on the last page. Feel free to let me know what you think.
