I wondered about the description on Lost in Space since I first saw it in
the Aitken catalog. My only thought on the hornless seedling was that
Terry had already made crosses with it and zero had horns?? I don't
know why the link Michael posted doesn't work. I went to the site and
it's the same address, you must have to use the entry page to get there.
Since half there parentage is unknown, not much can be
conclusive. Here's what it says about Lost in Space:
LOST IN SPACE (Aitken ’05) BB, 24" (61 cm), M. Our first “space age” iris.
This plant won an EC at a Portland Show because of its uniqueness. It is
a nicely proportioned BB for flower size, stem and foliage. Also a
marvelous parent (no horns on the seedlings!) and it throws clean bright
pink BB reblooming selfs. Falls are pink with tidy little bright pink horns.
Standards are orchid-lavender with a prominent pink flush up the
midribs.
Sdlg. #98T12:
Flushed Delight X unknown
$25.00
Flushed Delight is:
FLUSHED DELIGHT
(Chris Vizvarie, R. 1990). Sdlg. CRV-8-85A. TB 32" (82 cm) M.
"Lilac lavender, lavender signal; beards pink, pink horn or flounce;
pronounced sweet fragrance. Christa X Twice Thrilling., Last Scent Farm
1990. "

vacationing. The link you supplied doesn't work for me, sounds curious
though.
