Underneath "Home" is "VC 2005 intros" . The
first iris on that page is CALM ASSURANCE, which Vince mentions in the pedigrees
of his recent post. As the first known amoena-glaciata, it is visually a
very bright, clean yellow amoena with white zone around beard. The URL
directly to the photo is
INVITATION ONLY is also on the "2005" page, as are
several other new offerings.
The Accent site is a work-in-progress so not all
the blanks are yet filled in, but looking good, Vince!
I may be the only one in the group that has
actually seen any of your work in the flesh, as I bloomed IN A HEARTBEAT here
this year. My crosses -- across the board -- all failed except for five
out of quite a few. None of the successful takes that survived to maturity
were SA crosses.
Weather wasn't a bit cooperative, I'm afraid.
Rain, wind, more rain. Then pods and stems rotted right out from under
things when the weather turned warmer. Part of the problem is shortage of
available Ca and P nutrients--going three years with no lime nor fertilization
has not done my iris much good.
There were a few (quite a few, actually) medical
"diversions" during that time. So anyhow, things are on the upswing now
and I'm getting at least some of the garden tended to, small bits at a
time. The new things and the remaining stock of POWER WOMAN (after sending
out the guest plants) have taken priority. Two more Christopherson
intros are in the new acquisitions--one SA, the other closely related and a
probable breeder of SA's as it is from same to similar ancestry.
