Re: SAGE Project for '04

Hey Guys and Gals,

Walter and Chuck have brought up very good points. As SAGE evolves
we'll probably be able to, space permitting, dig deeper in to these
types of crosses. If any of you have the extra space, by all means,
make the crosses and keep detailed records. There's many side
crosses I'll be making myself involving my fascination with horns and
Arilbreds that may eventually have significance in SAGE. For the
first year or so of the project though, it would be good for the
group as a whole to remain focused on keeping it simple and getting
the wheels of the project moving. Does this make sense ?

I realize that the input here from you guys has been exceptional and
very much appreciated. There's much potential here with this group
and the basic design of experiment. I believe that we still need to
take baby steps at this point, no ? Another point, if there's too
many categories including reciprocal crosses, we might not
collectively acquire enough representative data (seedlings) between
us to be considered meaningful. We're still a small group.

Still, if you have the space, get a head start and make the crosses
and plant the seeds and collect the data. I want everybody to
pleased with the direction of SAGE and will assume that all areas
will be fully expolored in the future.

These are my thought as list owner.
Chris
