OT: Speech contest (was RE: too many flounces (sorry))


Yes I was a contestant in two categories:

 

Prose—I read an excerpt from Aldo Leopold’s A Sand County Almanac entitled “Good Oak”.  Received a 1 rating, advance to state.

 

After Dinner—A speech aimed at entertaining and inspiring.  I gave my speech on “The Essentials of Good Speaking”, oddly enough.  Received a 1 rating, advance to state.

 

Our team of 20 entries brought home, 10 ones and 10 twos.  It was a good (but LONG) day.
