Every thing I write is a big long story, kindly be patient.
Chuck mentioned in a previous post the variations that can be observed in style arms under different culture conditions in a way similar to the way we see space agers react. I recalled a net conversation with Bill Wells concerning the lace on the styles in one of his photos verses the lack of lace on the styles of the same iris here.
The below pics started out to be an example of style variation. When I started cropping they appeared to be an example also of a shelf. This might be a good non SA candidate. I attempted using pollen from it (Lace Jabot) with Envy of Dresden. Pods were formed but were later attacked by an unknown assailent. I do not recall if seeds were produced or germinated. It would be nice to know if Lace Jabot has decendants. Perhaps this actually is a "shelf" and perhaps the shelf is exhibited in them.
Burleson photo crop Lace Jabot

Wells photo crop Lace Jabot

Crop from Burleson

Also Burleson photo shows no lace on style while Wells photo is laced.
Smiles,
Bill Burleson
Word for the day:
Bozone (n.) (Synonym, Burleson aura): The substance surrounding slow people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately shows no sign of breaking down in the near future.
