Hi Kelly,

I'm still busy getting the fridge germination down to a science so 
I'm going to stick with this method.  It's -24°C here now but I've 
already got a dozen 1/4 inch seedlings up and ready to be put under 
lights.  I'd guess that germination techniques would have no effect 
on SAGE, however if nothing blooms for several years for us then this 
will cause problems with data collection and  breed disinterest.

Austin used to sell a germination enhancer out of his catalogues, 
anybody know the composition of this or similar products ?  My guess 
would be acid.

Now that I think of it, I was supposed to perform two separate 
experiments of soaking iris seeds in both chloroform and sulfuric 
acic to see if it will speed germination.  I'll try to locate the 
chemicals today and soak  tomorrow.
