Very interesting Chris. Thanks for sharing. I just love the
look when the underside is a different color from the tops of the
falls.
What is the tall red looking iris in the background?

Golden Galaxy
Hey guys and gals,
Well, after a season filled with
anguish, I did manage to bloom one or two seedlings. I was lucky to
get one nice bloom from each stalk with the rest of the blooms rotting
because of some type of larva damage. Doing a proper evaluation on
anything was near impossible but I'll share what I saw anyway.
This
is a sibling to one that bloomed last year but it's much nicer. The falls
on this one didn't fade in the sun like it's sibling but what I found
interesting was the creamy green under side of the falls. Even better with
this cross is that the seedlings have great thick orange/mustard brown
beards, sorry I just couldn't classify the color. The first bloom did show
tiny horns with the other mangled blooms showing none. Not a beauty
queen but something I consider to be interesting, well more so than a mess
of rotten petals ;-)
