Donald,
Yes, I'm getting better appendage development this
year and I'm positive that it has everything to do with the early Spring we had
this year. It has given the Iris plenty of growing time to prepare to
push up "them" stalks. The stalks are also very tall this
year.
The standards are pale lavender when they open but
they fade in the sun to white. This is a Sky Hooks x Thornbird seedling
from the same pod as the seedling I sent you. It's one of the few
that decided to clump and it really took off from there. Upon furthur
inspection this evening, I noticed that the odd horn was missing. Oh
well.....
