Chris, I would love to grow LIGHT FANTASTIC again.  It has been a pleasure to see it show up in a number of pedigrees.  Opal had wondered if it had a higher than normal chromosome count or something to account for the oddness of the stalk and bud.  Even the leaves had heavier than normal substance.
 
To my knowledge noone has ever published a chromosome count for Light Fantastic, but its obvious fertility and progeny of record suggest it must have been normal or nearly so.  The qualities must not have been due to number of chromosomes--just what was on the ones that were there.  Some very good things have come from it.
