Well, I live in SW MO, so erratic weather is the norm. When the stalks
were emerging the highs were near 80 lows in the 50's for about 3 days.
Then it changed and was 50's and 30's with a few frost scares, that
lasted close to a week. Then it's gradually warmed back up and they
bloomed. Lot's of rain during that period too around 8" in 2 weeks. All
in all, that's not too far off from a normal MO spring, but we are running
a couple weeks early on bloom this year.
The second flower on my SA seedling opened today and has horns a
little longer, same marbling, more hairy. This bloom wasn't as tore up
by storms, but still got rained on a little. Hopefully a few more seedlings
will open up tomorrow. I put Mescalero Cheif pollen on the flower that
opened today on the seedling. MC has much better substance than the
seedling does. Hope it takes. Will Warner.
