Re: [spaceagerobin] Predicting SA seasons

Michael,

Are you saying that you made crosses with SKY HOOKS, STINGRAY, and
MESMERIZER when they didn't show appendages at all and the offspring
didn't show any what so ever ?  AND then you made crosses with these
when they have their proper appendages, the offspring had them ?

Sorry, a little too quick I guess. Bloom on seedlings from Stingray crosses only showed Horns when the the parent clump of Stingray had blooms with horns. Ditto with  Blooms on seedlings with Sky Hooks as the SA parent.

In the group of Colorbrite x Mesmeriser seedlings there were 2 BC sdlgs with horns and 2 selfs with flounces. It didn't matter how long the seedling had been in bloom neither horns nor flounces appeared till the parent clump of Mesmeriser started showing flounces on blooms

Hmmmmm.. I don't know what to make of this.  To me genetics is genetics,
either they're there or they're not.  I think the _expression_ is related
to climatic conditions, soil quality and possibly dosage of the SA
genes.  SAGE will shed light on some of these ideas because we'll all be
doing the controlled experiment with the same plants.

I have to give you credit for thinking outside the box.  My SA seedlings
bloomed without horns when their parents did.  This isn't going to be
easy.
