RE: Pollen Strike Rates/ Fw: BUGLES AND HORNS

(With sincerity) I feel bad now….I didn’t realize that success rates were that much lower for others.  I didn’t mean to be whiny but I am usually used to about 30-40%.  Last year I had right at 40% and I thought that was kind of low.

What do others have for success?  I can’t believe I am actually doing something right!

Smilin’ thanks to Bill!

If I understand your numbers correctly, you are having a very high pollen strike rate compared to what I normally encounter here.

I've had some seasons where I collected only one seed pod for each 100 attempts. More often though the success rate here is better than that.

This has been an exceptional year for me. I get about one such year out of every three. My success rate this year is 17.55%, a little worse than 1 in 5. Your success rate exceeds mine.

Congratulations! Keep jabbin', dabbin', daubin', or smearin' whichever you do. You are doing something right!

Smiles,
