Colleen,

I also have to deal with  5 and  8 year old sons  but it's getting a bit
easier now that the little guy is a bit more obediant. The older one
actually makes the odd cross and is quite good at it.  Another thing
that drives me crazy is when I inspect my seedling planters, the cat
jumps in and rolls on the tiny seedlings.  

Otherwise, he's a perfect animal.  The kittens are far worse but they're
not allowed out because Daisy got gobbled up by a wild dog last year. 
It's dangerous out there at night.
