Re: [SpaceAgeRobin] [iris-photos] TB: Hookem Horns

Hi there,
Usually Gladys Austin and Howdy Do are the 1st to arrive here, followed closely by Unicorn and Horned Mystery. After that i get most of my newer SA's i added from the past few years, then a majority of my Austins come in bloom.  Most have a full rack of 8-9 blooms or more. Have to bust up some of the clumps this year as they getting thick in spots. I have found several more old Austins that i thought lost, but now they are found.  Just hope i can get some crosses with them b4 the next rain arrives on Sunday nite.
I've been out most of the day staking out the tall and heaviest stalks. So much color now, but still looking a bit hagard from the rain and hail storms over the past few days. It's great to see some sun now, but the wind just kicked up to give me more fits.
Ah, the life of a farmer never ends.
Hope everyone is having a good bloom season........

Hookem Horns (Sutton '97) seems to always be the first TB SA to bloom
here.  Horns on all flowers and very regular.  The flowers are huge, but
bud count seems to be quite low.   Lot's of iris are having lowered bud
counts this year, but I don't recall it having over 5-6 last year. Anyone
else growing this one?  Bubble Up X Sky Hooks
Seedlings getting close to blooming, can't wait. :)
