Austin used to introduce lots of breeder seedlings to those who 
couldn't afford his, even for then, incredibly expensive SA 
introductions.

For me, other traits are more important that bud count.  Vigor being 
#1 for me. If it produces seedlings that grow like crazy, I'd say 
introduce it.  You wouldn't believe how bad some of my seedlings grow 
up here.  It's like the acid test for plants up here.
