Thanks for the update on the two types of beards. I have been looking at 
digital close ups of wide beards but there is too much variation to make 
any determination. Wide beards are a good sign of flounce potential but 
a very low correlation to bearded horns.

For example CODACIL X CODACIL sdlg had long narrow petaloid extensions 
with barely a hint of developing into a fan shape at the ends. Maybe 
some folks in later blooming areas can try another wide beard x wide 
beard cross.
