Chris, I can't say that I've seen flats have trouble opening in general. There are a few specific cvs who fade very very quickly, so I suppose that could be percieved as not opening well. Oh, now I remember, that article said that flats need to be held further away from the stem so that the blooms can open all the way without interference- I bet that's what you're thinking of. It occured to me, Chris, that you might be seeing Six Pack and not know it. The first year here it opened as a normal bloom.
